Barrel

The slide not only cycles spent cartridges out of the chamber but also pulls a new round from the magazine when the trigger is pulled. It acts as a recoil buffer and can also manually chamber a round. Without the slide, the inner mechanisms of the gun would not function.
Frame
The frame is the main part, or core of different types of guns, and serves as the foundation upon which the other components of the firearm are built. It can be composed of a metal or plastic material designed to be strong and durable enough to withstand repeated fire.
Hammer
The hammer consists of a pivoting arm which is pulled and released by the trigger mechanism to strike a firing pin. This in turn strikes and detonates a chambered round.
The shape of the hammer can vary across different gun designs – some will be straight while others will have curvature. The composition of the hammer is usually metal but may be made of other materials such as polymer.
Magazine
The magazine is a metal box inserted into the grip of a handgun or rifle and generally holds multiple rounds of ammunition. Magazines can come in different sizes depending on the type and power of the gun.

Ammunition provides the gun with a source of energy. It houses an explosive primer, a propellant, and a projectile fired out of the muzzle.
