“Simon Pegg with an American accent! Yeah, yeah, I know he's done it before—I just haven't heard it. Digging his down and out comedian.”
“Checking out another new series (shut up, Ben). Technically, it's a mini-series, only a 6-ep run. Lots of TV vets in this one—too many to name. Neo-noir, 'L.A. Confidential'-type stylings (it's based on a book named 'L.A. Noir', don't ya know).”
“The fight between Hulk and Abomination is particularly cool, as the show gives us implied history between them and mutual hatred. The show does a great job of capturing Abomination's need to prove himself as being "better" than the Hulk.”
“Once again, I take some issue with how Thor is depicted in this one: mainly, he should have fared much better against those he fought. But this storyline is about bringing Hawkeye and Hulk into the fold so they have to be the saviors.”
“The gamma mutations rage on. The highlight of this ep has to be the interaction between Hawkeye and Hulk, particularly the encounter in Canada. Clint sure knows how to tough-talk the Big Green.”
“A nice array of Hulk villains in this ep. Of course, Absorbing Man isn't supposed to be a "gamma villain" (he got his powers from Loki in the comics!) but why quibble? And Jeffrey Combs makes an excellent Leader.”
“Yeah, it's hard to maintain good relationships in Westeros—no one you can trust, etc. Also...what THE HELL just happened at the end of this ep???”
“'You know the way you smell when you first come home from the beach? Well, I want to make a cologne that captures the essence of that smell.'”
“Tyrion doing some work. And I was wondering when Natalie Dormer would show up in this series. And what's the deal with winter? Everyone keeps saying "Winter is coming" and...oh. Oh, right.”
“I still adore the scene between Jerry and Elaine in which they discuss Owen's appearance and grooming habits while standing over his unconscious body. Unlike later 'Seinfeld', there is still a degree of human caring mixed in with the casual observations.”
“[After Jerry tells him about how uninhibited he feels in his latest relationship.]
GEORGE: It's like going to the bathroom in front of a lot of people and not caring.
JERRY: [pause] It's not like that *at all*.”
