    Chef Ramsay tests the chefs' teamwork by thrusting them into a challenge requiring them to cook three appetizers in thirty minutes in turns, with only 15 seconds to communicate in-between switching. The winning team is rewarded with a shopping spree at a cooking store, while the losing team is placed on delivery duty.

The losers are made to sort trash for recycling.

    The remaining aspiring chefs compete in the seventh episode of the eighth season of Hell's Kitchen. Chef Ramsay challenges the chefs by having them name ingredients based on letters spun on a roulette wheel, then asks both teams to cook dishes using the ingredients that they named. The winning team enjoys a night at a fancy hotel, while the losing team is made to peel potatoes to be used in french fries. The next day, Hell's Kitchen opens for family night, including a children's menu. Despite a number of hangups, including slow service to Chef Ramsay's own family, the service goes well on the whole. This leads Ramsay to make a surprising decision come the evening's elimination.

    Hoping to find leadership and stoke passion, Chef Ramsay swaps the teams of two of the aspiring chefs. For the day's challenge, each chef is asked to create a unique salad and the team with the most favored salads wins. The challenge ends in a tie, so the victory is determined by the single best salad. The winning team enjoys lunch at the Getty Villa, with the creator of the best salad getting his work featured on Bon Appetit. The losing team is made to clean, prep and set up both kitchens ahead of service, which is being held that evening. During the evening's dinner service, the aspiring chefs face the added pressure of serving celebrities at chef's tables. Some rise to the challenge, while others find themselves on fire or kicked out. Though service is completed, Chef Ramsay finds it to be filled with speed bumps and decides that there is no winning team. He then goes on his own to determine the evening's elimination.

    Season 8, Episode 5 - Aired 10/06/2010

    Chef Ramsay announces to the aspiring chefs that Hell's Kitchen will be hosting the Beverly Hills High School Prom with a theme of "Old Hollywood." The chefs have a video chat with the prom committee and are challenged to prepare a menu of one appetizer and two entrees. One team earns the first ever Hell's Kitchen blowout victory and is rewarded with a day at an amusement park. The losing team is turned over to the prom committee to transform Hell's Kitchen for the prom, but are not at all happy about it, leading to some of the chefs giving the committee lip and attitude. At dinner service, Chef Ramsay tells the chefs that he wants them running like a machine, but it turns out to be anything but. Despite these issues, both teams do complete service and a losing team is declared. Additionally, Chef Ramsay singles out one chef whom he felt displayed excellent leadership qualities.

    Season 8, Episode 4 - Aired 09/29/2010

    The remaining aspiring chefs compete in the fourth episode of the eighth season of Hell's Kitchen. Chef Ramsay challenges the aspiring chefs to each create their own ravioli dish using ingredients of their choice, then asks both teams to rank their dishes from 1 to 6. He then tastes the dishes and the winning team is rewarded with a helicoptered visit to an ocean resort, while the losing team is made to prep both kitchens and also make Mozzarella cheese from scratch by milking cows. At dinner service, one team rises to the challenge, but the other fails miserably. Chef Ramsay sends the team that completed service in to help the other team, but they are unable to salvage the situation. Thus, Chef Ramsay asks both teams to declare candidates for elimination.
