This heartwarming true story is an American adaptation of a Japanese tale about a loyal dog named Hachiko. Parker Wilson (Richard Gere) is a university professor who, on his way back from work, finds at the train station an Akita puppy, japanese breed known for its loyalty. Thanks to the collar worn by the cub, Parker finds out that the dog's name is Hachiko. Not wanting to leave him at the station, Parker takes the dog home despite his wife Cate's (Joan Allen) complaints. A special bond soon grows between the two.
