Miso Widgets and Feeds
Developers can use the Miso API to create checkins and get check-in feeds, which requires OAuth authentication. There are times when unauthenticated read-only access is the only requirement for an application, such as embedding recent checkins for a user in a blog or personal website.
For these cases, Miso has developed public read-only access to checkin activity for a user or media. This access is available via two different methods: Feeds and Widgets.
RSS and Atom feeds are now available for both user and media check-in history. The feeds also include important metadata about the media or user, and these feeds can be used as read-only methods for displaying information about an associated media or user.
To access the feeds, simply follow the URL naming scheme (or checkout the auto-discovery link on a profile or media page):
Note that the 'user_id' for the url is a user's unique id (i.e 8900) and can be found most easily through the authenticated API or by checking the 'meta' tag named 'user' in the miso html source while logged in.
Note that the 'media_id' for the url is a media's unique id (i.e 14288) and can be found most easily through the authenticated API or by checking the 'meta' tag property 'og:id' in the miso html source for a media page.
An easy to customize widget is also available as well for every user and media. If you just want an easy way to embed check-in activity on your site, this widget is probably a good choice.
To access the widget, simply customize yours on the Create a Widget page and then copy the generated code snippet to your site.
